Guelph Engineering Leadership Program 2025–26

The Guelph Engineering Leadership (GEL) Program is back for the 2025–26 year! This year’s program features a mix of 4 interactive workshops and 4 guest lectures, designed to help you strengthen your leadership skills, connect with peers, and learn from experts. 

How it Works 

  • Workshops: Offered twice on Wednesdays – pick the time that works best for your schedule. 
  • Lectures: Offered once, led by guest speakers from academia and industry. 
  • Certificate: Attend at least 4 out of 8 sessions to receive a Leadership Certificate from the College of Engineering.

Program Highlights

  • Learn about topics like intercultural leadership, ethical principles, sustainability, systems thinking, conflict resolution, and more. 
  • Hear from inspiring guest speakers including Dr. Ben Yang, Dr. Tej Gidda, Dr. Lianne Lefsrud, Dr. Marc Hurwitz, and Taylor Stimpson. 
  • Join workshops led by GEL facilitators that focus on goals and values, systems thinking, conflict resolution, and professional development.

Workshop 1 – Personal Goals and Values

Join GEL and GEPD for a conference centered around building confidence for real world work scenarios. GEPD’s Professional Development Conference event: Finding Your Footing: Learning to Adapt and Thrive in the Workplace, will discuss topics such as imposter syndrome, navigating workplace culture, and leadership and team dynamics.
