Personal Values and Self Leadership

Developing personal and self-leadership skills is essential for cultivating effective engineering leaders. This workshop will focus primarily on individual reflection, complemented by group discussions. A facilitator will guide participants through thought exercises and interactive activities to deepen their understanding.

Becoming A Productive Leader

This workshop helps participants develop effective time management skills and sustainable habits to reduce stress and maximize learning opportunities. Through individual reflection and guided exercises, participants will gain practical tools to become more organized and effective leaders.

Professional Development Conference (PDC) Guelph

The Guelph Engineering Leadership Program is excited to partner with the Professional Development Conference, which will serve as Workshop 3 for the program. Attendance at this conference counts toward earning the Certificate of Accomplishment and is hosted by the Professional Development Conference Committee.

What is Engineering Leadership?

This workshop helps participants explore and develop their personal leadership styles within the context of 21st-century engineering challenges. Through group-based discussions and reflective activities, participants will gain a deeper understanding of engineering leadership and enhance their confidence and capabilities as future engineers.

Technological Stewardship and The UN Sustainability Goals

This workshop explores the concept of technological stewardship and the engineer’s role in shaping the relationship between technology and society. Participants will examine the UN Sustainable Development Goals and develop an understanding of how engineering skills and mindset can contribute to creating positive societal impact.

Developing Your Personal Brand

This interactive workshop helps participants develop their personal brand and confidently communicate their value in both digital and in-person settings. Through practical exercises, participants will learn to craft an authentic elevator pitch and effectively share their strengths, goals, and unique qualities during networking and job opportunities.

GEL Conclusion Workshop

Join us for the GEL program’s final wrap-up workshop, where we’ll review the requirements for earning your certificate and celebrate your achievements. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet the Director of the School of Engineering and Guelph Engineering alumni while reflecting on leadership and next steps.
